Une compétition de pompom grils a lieu en même temps que le concours de jeunes créateurs de Brooke...la jeune femme va devoir faire un choix...et après avoir passé une nuit mouvementée à New York, elle décide de vivre pleinement ses 17 ans en rejoingnant ses amies à Charlotte.

"Hard To Beat" des Hard-Fi est la chanson que l'on entends lorsque Peyton arrive dans la chambre de Rachel, par la suite Rachel a dans l'idée de faire boire Peyton, qui est encore fragile du au décès de Ely sa mère biologique pour la pousser dans les bras de Lucas !

Un violent orage bloque les gens de Tree Hill chez eux. C'est ainsi que Nathan et Haley passent la soirée ensemble en se remémorant de bons souvenirs et que Micro en apprend plus sur les femmes en compagnie de Rachel. Quand à Brooke et Lucas, c'est la crise quand la jeune femme découvre que Lucas lui écrit les mêmes mots qu'il avait déjà à écrit à Peyton par le passé mais elle le lui pardonne après une belle déclaration d'amour sous la pluie. En parallèle Dan retrouve son livre de compte grace à une clé volée chez Keith et Peyton découvre la vérité sur la maladie de Ellie.

"Missing You" de Tyler Hilton (Chris Keller dans la série) est la chanson que l'on peut entendre lorsque Nathan sort de la maison, malgré la pluie afin de prouver à Haley que même si elle est partie en tournée, il a toujours été fier d'ellle...

Une conseillère d'orientation vient au lycée ce qui met les lycéens face à leur avenir et les amène à réfléchir à leur futur, tout comme Haley et Nathan qui se demande si aller dans des facs differentes ne serait pas mettre en péril leur couple ou encore Peyton qui ne sait pas vraiment si elle doit continuer ses études après le lycée. Par ailleurs Keith est relaché de prison pour manque de preuves et Dan supporte de moins en moins la "nouvelle vie" de son frère auprès de Karen et Lucas.

"Life After Love" de Colored Shadows est la musique difusée pendant le montage final, on l'ont voit les élèves parler de leur futur face à la conseillère, Haley faire uen liste de "pour" et "contre" et enfin Dan regarder avec dégout la "nouvelle vie " de son frère Keith.
